Another Green River Fish Trip
Mouse and myself went on a little adventure for a couple days up on the Green river in Wyoming this last week. It was both of our first times on the river up there so we didn't know much of where to go or what to fish. Good thing we did our homework the day prior to leaving and found out what the fishies were eating. Catching chubby carnivorous cutthroats and rainbows for a couple of days was well worth the trip up north. check out the photos and view the beauty.
Had to celebrate our arrival with whiskey!
We landed in camp pretty late, it was time to make a fire. We had some raging fires goin!
Mouse forgot his coffee cup, so he had to use the prior nights beer can instead, haha watch them lips!
Mouse gettin bent in a nice hole! Pulled in a nice trout!

Mouse and his good fish with that munched up spawn tail!
Relaxation on the mighty Green.
Hooked up into a nice chubby rainbow. This guy took me for a fight!
This Cutty sure liked my streamer

Mouse landed this beaut on a HUGE streamer! Shows how aggressive these fish are. Was a fighter!
We caught a bunch of these bottom feeder suckers! Bummed
It's such a good feeling to catch nice fish on flies you've made yourself! Fish Approved!
This was my biggest fish of the trip, maybe ever on a river! Stoked to have met that fish.
That concludes our adventure to the mighty Green in Wyoming!
Fishing just became my full time job, so watch out for those posts.
RIP LIPS

Moms Current Creek Twofer
A few years back on a day trip to Current Creek with my mom and dad, my mom (Geri) caught two fish on one cast with a fly rod. On her first cast at a beaver pond with a double nymph set up she got a hit. While landing the fish another fish hit her other fly. It was a fun and exciting time watching her pull in two fish at once. I'm always reminded of that day with my parents when I go up to Current creek. It's a memory that I will always be stoked on. Thanks mom for sharing your passion for fishing with me. Happy Mothers day!

Warm Water River Monsters
My buddy Luke took me to one of his favorite warm water fishing holes. We were on the hunt for some Walleye. Unfortunately we didn't land any but we did pick up a few other kinds of warm water fish. This was the first time I have ever caught catfish with a fly rod. I hooked in to a Channel Cat and a Mud Cat. Also caught a couple of White Bass and a June Sucker. The Cats and Sucker are kind of gross but still fun to catch while hunting for the Walleye. Luke ended up hooking in to a monster. It and gave him a good run for his money and got a way. Fishing in muddy water in the city is kind of wild but ended up being a lot more fun then expected. It's an adventure because you don't know what you're going to get.

Green River Fishing Update
We spent a couple of days on the Green River in Wyoming this week. I love that place. We started with a full day float and then realized its better to wade. So we floated to the good zones and got off the boats then caught some hogs. It was well worth the trip. The hot flies were Platte River Spiders and Red or Orange Zebra Midges. We caught Rainbows, Browns, Cutts of course White fish and a random Lake Trout. I would suggest you make the trip. Fish On!

Tip Of The Week: Adventure Beers
I'm stoked that Miller/Coors is making these resealable 16 oz beer cans. They work great for fishing and other fun outdoor activities. The advantage is you can open a beer and then close it to get back to casting and stripping. When packing your beer around in your chest or hip pack always make sure to wrap them with koozies. Keeps the frosty brew cold while hiking around and makes for a great treat after reeling in a big one. ><:::>

Flaming Gorge Lake Trout
I wonder if one of these guys would creep in to the Green River? How fun would that we to catch on a fly rod! Check out a couple of the photos from the Utah DNR Facebook page of the gill net survey of Antelope Flat. Matt McKell shows off one of 12 lake trout netted at Antelope Flat. This is a 23 pounder.
Ian Kennedy shows a big lake trout from this morning's gill netting trek at Antelope Flat.
Hams Fork fishing update
We went up to Hams Fork on Tuesday. The water was effected by run off making it a little high and off color. We still hammered through the conditions and hooked on to a few good fish. Mostly Rainbow trout but Sean Boss hooked in to a nice 24" Brown to end the day. It was a fun trip but I would recommend giving that spot a few weeks for the river to calm down.

Some good fishing lately.
we've been going out on the river everyday and just slaying some fish. Here's a couple photo's of some trout we've caught.
Super Moon post coming soon!

Tip Of The Week: Lifeproof Case
Todays tip is more of a product review. But I think it pretty cool and love to using it. The LIFEPROOF iPhone case!
I was fishing with my buddy Tad. He pulled out his iPhone to take a photo of a fish and whoops he dropped it in the river. After trying all the tricks to dry it out he ended up having to replace it. I didn't want to make the same mistake and went looking for a water proof case. Mouse put me on to the LIFEPROOF case. Its pretty bomber. After doing some research on web, watching videos of people taking it snorkeling and filming fish under water I had to get it. I could not be any happier. I take mine fishing with no worries and love to play around and take under water photos. I don't have any stress about dropping it in or out of the water. If you use your phone to listen to music while fishing or to take photos I would suggest grabbing one of these guys.
Temporarily Unemployed Fishermen
I figure you can see that the Brighton Anglers have some spare time on their hands. With multiple blog posts of different crews hitting up separate rivers in the same day it looks like we don't have jobs. Its kind of true. With the ski season winding down and the resorts closing we all have a little R&R to catch up on. We of course chose to do it with fly rods in our hands. Here's some photos from a fly fishing trip to the Weber River the other day. Caught on to a nice little caddis hatch that got the fish all excited. Supper fun afternoon. Enjoy!
